- Machine-washable polyester cover
- Folds flat for storage
Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this chair if you want a low seating option for watching TV or reading on the floor. The 360-degree swivel allows you to turn easily without standing up. The adjustable back cushion helps if you need lumbar support while sitting low. The padded armrests provide comfort and make it easy to move the 17-pound chair. The foldable design is useful if you need to store it away when not in use. It suits small spaces where a full-sized office chair does not fit.
Who should skip it
Skip this chair if you need a standard-height office chair for a desk. The 30-inch height is too low for most tables. You might find the 22-inch width narrow if you prefer a wider seat. The floor base offers less stability than a chair with five legs on carpet. If you require a chair with a tilt mechanism or height adjustment, this model does not have those features. It is strictly a floor rocker, not a traditional ergonomic office chair.
Verdict: The SKY5878 is a compact, zero-assembly floor chair with swivel mobility. It suits low-seating needs but does not replace a desk chair.
Key specs explained
Lumbar Support: Adjustable back cushion
The listing specifies an adjustable back cushion for lumbar support. This feature allows you to shift the cushion to match your spine's curve. It helps reduce lower back strain during long sessions of gaming or reading. You can move the cushion to find a comfortable position. This adjustability is useful if you prefer a specific level of lower back pressure. It differs from fixed backrests found in some basic floor seats.
Upholstery Material: Polyester
The chair uses polyester for its upholstery. This fabric is known for being durable and easy to maintain. The data notes that the cover is removable and machine-washable. This means you can clean stains without removing the entire seat. Polyester resists wear from regular use. It is a practical choice for households with children or pets. You can swap covers if you want a different look.
Dimensions: 22.5in (L) x 22in (W) x 30in (H)
The overall size is 22.5 inches long, 22 inches wide, and 30 inches high. This low profile makes it suitable for floor use on carpets or hard surfaces. The width accommodates most adult body types comfortably. The height is lower than standard office chairs, which may require you to adjust your monitor or desk setup. These dimensions help it fit into smaller living spaces or media rooms without taking up much floor area.
Weight: 17 pounds
The chair weighs 17 pounds. This weight makes it light enough to move around your home easily. You can reposition it for cleaning or to change your view. Despite being light, the steel frame provides stability. It is not so heavy that it becomes difficult to lift. This portability is a key benefit for floor chairs. You can store it away or move it between rooms without needing two people.
Swivel: 360-degree
The base allows for 360-degree rotation. This feature lets you turn to face different directions without standing up. It is useful for watching TV from multiple angles or reaching for items nearby. The steel ball bearings enable smooth movement. You can pivot quickly to interact with others in the room. This mobility adds flexibility to your seating experience compared to fixed floor cushions.
Design and build details
The frame relies on a durable steel structure wrapped in a soft, removable polyester cover. This material choice allows for machine-washing, which helps maintain hygiene over time. The seat and backrest use plush yet firm foam. This combination offers support without sinking too deeply. The armrests are padded and double as handlebars, making it easier to move the chair across the room.
According to the listing, the chair measures 22.5 inches in length and 22 inches in width. It stands 30 inches tall and weighs 17 pounds. Before you buy this chair
You should verify your floor type before ordering. The listing notes a machine-washable base to protect surfaces, but you must ensure your flooring can handle direct contact. This chair sits low, so you need adequate clearance if you use it with a low table or bed. Since it lacks wheels, you must slide it to move. Keep the polyester cover clean by removing and washing it regularly. This maintenance preserves the foam’s firmness and hygiene. Compare this model against the other 1 options on this page. If you need height adjustment or a standard office height, this floor chair may not suit you. It is best for casual lounging, gaming, or reading on the floor. Check the color options if you want to match your decor. The black and blue variant is just one of nine choices. Ensure your space can accommodate its 22.5-inch width and 30-inch height. This compact footprint fits small rooms better than bulky office chairs. You will not need assembly tools, but you should plan where to store it when folded.
Check before you buy
- Check if your floor surface is safe for direct contact
- Verify you have enough floor space for the 22.5-inch width
- Confirm you do not need a raised seating height
- Ensure you can store the chair when folded flat
