GTPLAYER vs SIHOO Chair Specs
Upholstery Material
The GTPLAYER model uses PU leather for its upholstery, a material known for its smooth texture and ease of cleaning. You can wipe it with a soft cloth to keep it looking new. In contrast, the SIHOO M18 features a breathable mesh backrest. This fabric is designed to keep your back cool and comfortable during long sessions. Mesh allows for better air circulation compared to the non-porous leather. Your choice depends on whether you prefer the sleek look of faux leather or the temperature regulation of mesh fabric.
Lumbar Support Type
GTPLAYER includes a dedicated lumbar pillow to support your lower back. This removable cushion helps relieve fatigue when you maintain the same sitting posture for hours. SIHOO also provides lumbar support, but it is integrated into the chair's ergonomic design rather than being a separate pillow. Both chairs aim to reduce pain during long sitting periods. The GTPLAYER approach allows you to adjust the pillow's position manually, while the SIHOO design relies on its built-in structure to provide four support points including the back and hips.
Footrest Feature
The GTPLAYER chair stands out by including a retractable footrest. This feature allows you to relax your legs and elevate your feet when you are not actively working or gaming. You can simply take out the footrest and lean back. The SIHOO M18 does not list a footrest in its specifications. It focuses on standard office ergonomics with headrest and seat height adjustments. If you value the ability to recline and rest your legs fully, the GTPLAYER offers a distinct advantage that the SIHOO model lacks.
Weight Capacity
SIHOO specifies a weight capacity of 150kg for the M18 model. This limit is supported by passing the 1136kg static pressure test, indicating a robust build for heavy-duty use. The GTPLAYER data does not explicitly state a maximum weight limit in the provided specifications. While it mentions a sturdy metal frame and legs, the exact load-bearing capacity is not listed. For users who need to know the precise weight limit before purchasing, the SIHOO provides clear data that the GTPLAYER listing currently omits.
Safety Certification
The SIHOO M18 has passed the BIFMA test, a recognized standard for commercial durability and safety in office furniture. This certification suggests the chair meets specific industry requirements for stability and performance. The GTPLAYER description highlights thousands of rotation and sitting experiments and a sturdy metal frame, but it does not mention BIFMA or other specific safety certifications in the provided text. If you prioritize verified third-party safety standards, the SIHOO chair offers documented compliance that is not explicitly claimed for the GTPLAYER model.
Warranty Period
Warranty terms differ between the two brands. GTPLAYER offers free replacement or repair within 1 year of purchase. This covers defects and provides some peace of mind for the first twelve months. SIHOO promises a longer warranty period, offering free replacement parts during a 3-year warranty period. This extended coverage suggests greater confidence in the long-term durability of the M18. For buyers looking for longer-term protection against quality-related issues, the SIHOO warranty is more comprehensive than the one-year coverage from GTPLAYER.
Which chair fits your needs best
You want a footrest for relaxation
The GTPLAYER model includes a built-in footrest made of PU leather. This feature lets you extend your legs and rest comfortably. The chair also has a separate headrest pillow and lumbar pillow to support your neck and waist. These added elements help you unwind during breaks or long gaming sessions without needing extra equipment.
You need breathability for long hours
The SIHOO M18 uses a mesh backrest to keep your back cool. This material allows air to flow through, which reduces heat buildup. It is designed for people between 5'6" and 6'2" tall. The chair supports up to 150kg and passed BIFMA safety tests. This makes it a sturdy choice for office work or study.
You prefer a stable metal frame
GTPLAYER constructs its legs from metal, matching the internal frame material. This design aims to prevent rust and breakage under various conditions. The chair weighs 40.6 pounds and offers a wider metal frame for stability. It is suitable if you want a solid base that can handle pets or active movement without wobbling.
You want a longer warranty period
SIHOO provides a 3-year warranty for free replacement parts. This covers quality-related issues for a longer duration than many competitors. The chair also offers free returns within 30 days. If you prioritize long-term support and easy assembly, this mesh chair provides clear warranty terms and straightforward setup instructions for your home or office.
