How alternatives compare to Soma
TRALT Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair 4-Pack
The TRALT 4-Pack replaces the Soma’s single gaming focus with bulk office utility. It lacks RGB lighting and recline features, offering instead a mesh back for breathability and lumbar support. The Soma weighs 54 pounds individually, while this pack weighs 112 pounds total, indicating heavier individual units. You trade immersive gaming aesthetics for durable, adjustable seating suitable for teams. If you need multiple chairs for an office rather than one for gaming, this mesh option provides solid weight limits and ergonomic back support without the clutter of wires or lights.
FelixKing High-Back Mesh Office Chair
The FelixKing High-Back Mesh Chair swaps the Soma’s dual-density foam for a fully breathable mesh construction. It features flip-up armrests and a high back, prioritizing airflow over the plush feel of foam. The Soma offers a 155-degree recline and RGB lighting, which this chair lacks. FelixKing focuses on durable mesh and a high weight limit, making it better for users who sweat or prefer firm support. You give up gaming-specific features like reactive lighting and a steel gaming frame, gaining instead a versatile office chair with flexible armrest positioning and enhanced ventilation for long work sessions.
HON Ignition 2.0 Mid-Back Mesh Chair
The HON Ignition 2.0 is a mid-back mesh chair designed for office workers, not gamers. It lacks the Soma’s RGB lighting, deep recline, and gaming-oriented steel frame. Instead, it offers breathable mesh and essential ergonomic support for desk work. The HON weighs only 24 pounds, significantly lighter than the Soma’s 54 pounds, making it easier to move. You sacrifice immersive lighting and gaming aesthetics for a lightweight, durable, and breathable solution. This chair suits users who prioritize airflow and adjustability for long office hours over the reactive features and plush foam of a gaming chair.
Razer Enki Gaming Chair, Black
The Razer Enki stays within the brand but removes RGB lighting entirely. It features a fixed lumbar curve and a 152-degree recline, slightly less than the Soma’s 155 degrees. The Enki weighs 53.2 pounds, nearly identical to the Soma’s 54 pounds. It uses a reactive seat rather than manual adjustments, similar to the Soma’s approach. You trade the immersive Chroma lighting and USB-C power flexibility for a simpler, focused gaming experience. This chair is ideal for users who want Razer ergonomics and deep recline without the distraction or setup complexity of reactive RGB effects.
Marsail Oversized Ergonomic Chair
The Marsail Oversized Chair offers mesh breathability and adjustable armrests, differing from the Soma’s foam seat and fixed frame. It includes a headrest and lumbar support, features the Soma does not explicitly list in its key specs. The Marsail weighs 34.8 pounds, much lighter than the Soma. It lacks RGB lighting and the Soma’s specific gaming recline angle. This chair suits users under 5'11" who prioritize armrest adjustability and airflow over gaming aesthetics. You give up the immersive lighting and steel gaming build for a lighter, more adjustable ergonomic office chair with mesh construction.
HUANUO High Back Mesh Chair
The HUANUO Pack of 6 provides six high-back mesh chairs, contrasting sharply with the Soma’s single gaming unit. It lacks RGB lighting, recline features, and gaming-specific ergonomics. Each chair weighs only 30 pounds total for the pack, indicating very light individual units. You trade the Soma’s immersive lighting, dual-density foam, and steel frame for bulk office utility. This option is for teams needing uniform, breathable seating with headrests and lumbar support. It is not for gaming but offers scalable ergonomic solutions with adjustable features for multiple users, prioritizing mesh breathability and purchasing efficiency over individual gaming performance.
