6 Best Alternatives to the Serta SmartLayers Mosby High-Back Chair (2026)

How alternatives differ from the Mosby

YFO High Back Leather Office Chair

The YFO High Back chair offers a wider seat at 25.9 inches compared to the Mosby’s 17.3 inches. This extra width accommodates cross-legged sitting better. It also features a spring pack for flexible seating, whereas the Mosby uses memory foam and ComfortCoils for plush support. The YFO is lighter at 47.4 pounds versus the Mosby’s 54.8 pounds. You give up the Mosby’s perforated breathable upholstery with the YFO, which uses standard leather. Choose the YFO if you sit on the floor or prefer a firmer, springy seat over deep cushioning. The Mosby remains better for users who prioritize airflow and structured ergonomic support through its BIFMA certification and specific layer design.

COLAMY High Back Leather Executive Chair

The COLAMY chair provides flip-up arms, a feature the Mosby lacks. This allows you to slide the chair under a desk more easily. It also includes inflatable lumbar support, offering customizable pressure relief that the Mosby does not specify. The COLAMY seat is wider at 26 inches, providing more room than the Mosby’s 17.3 inches. However, the COLAMY is lighter at 38.6 pounds, which may affect stability for some users. You sacrifice the Mosby’s perforated breathable vegan leather for COLAMY’s standard leather upholstery. Pick the COLAMY if you need space-saving armrests and targeted back adjustment. The Mosby is better if you prefer a fixed, plush seat with consistent airflow through its perforated design.

WAILOR Big and Tall Leather Office Chair

The WAILOR chair is built for heavy users with a 450 lbs capacity, significantly exceeding typical limits. It includes flip-up armrests for flexibility, unlike the Mosby’s fixed horizontal arms. The seat is much wider at 28.5 inches, offering ample space compared to the Mosby’s narrow 17.3 inches. It is also heavier at 60 pounds, suggesting a sturdier frame. You give up the Mosby’s breathable perforated upholstery and BIFMA certification with the WAILOR. The WAILOR uses standard leather without specified airflow features. Choose the WAILOR if you need high weight capacity and space-saving arms. The Mosby is better for users who prioritize breathability, certified safety standards, and a plush, layered seat cushion over raw capacity.

Homall High-Back Leather Gaming Chair

The Homall chair offers a recline function, which the Mosby does not specify. It includes a headrest for neck support, a feature absent in the Mosby’s description. The Homall has a 300 lb weight capacity, which is lower than some alternatives but robust for general use. It is lighter at 40.8 pounds compared to the Mosby’s 54.8 pounds. The Homall uses standard leather, lacking the Mosby’s perforated breathable design. You sacrifice the Mosby’s Smart Layers seat cushion and BIFMA certification for the Homall’s gaming-style recline and headrest. Pick the Homall if you need to recline for rest or prefer a headrest. The Mosby is better for upright work sessions requiring airflow and specialized seat comfort.

EXCEBET Big and Tall Leather Chair with Footrest

The EXCEBET chair includes a footrest, a feature the Mosby does not have. It is designed for larger users with a Big and Tall size, offering a wider seat at 29.8 inches compared to the Mosby’s 17.3 inches. It is also heavier at 58.4 pounds, indicating a substantial build. The EXCEBET uses standard leather, unlike the Mosby’s perforated breathable upholstery. You give up the Mosby’s Smart Layers cushion and BIFMA certification for the EXCEBET’s leg support and spacious seat. Choose the EXCEBET if you need to elevate your legs or require extra width. The Mosby is better for users who prioritize breathability, certified ergonomic support, and a plush, layered seat without the bulk of a footrest.

WOTSTA High-Back Gaming Chair with Footrest

The WOTSTA chair features a massage function and a footrest, neither of which are in the Mosby. It includes a headrest for additional neck support. The WOTSTA is lighter at 34.4 pounds, making it easier to move than the Mosby’s 54.8 pounds. It uses standard leather, lacking the Mosby’s perforated breathable design. You sacrifice the Mosby’s Smart Layers seat cushion and BIFMA certification for the WOTSTA’s massage and recline capabilities. Pick the WOTSTA if you want therapeutic features and leg support during breaks. The Mosby is better for users who prioritize airflow, certified safety, and a structured, plush seat cushion for long work sessions without electronic features.
